BJP & CPM unite in slamming government over inflation

It is tested at several times that a serious crisis often bring the warring camps to the same defensive measure. Well, that cannot be said in the current political situation in the country but it is true that the tone of CPM, exterior supporter of the UPA government, is almost same to BJP while slamming the government over the mounting saga of inflation.

There is no doubt that the inflation rate for the week ending on June 7 at 11.05 and thus breaking a 13-year record has created jitters in the political arena. Almost all parties, barring only the Congress, are vying with other to castigate the reigning government severely. But the most vitriolic has been the Left brigade, apart from the opposition BJP, and of them the CPM in accusing the government over its drastic failure to check price rise.

The CPM seems to be most outraged at the exponential rise of price in recent times and is even mulling over its strategies to counter the UPA government. This spartan attitude of the CPM became apparent from the stance of its general secretary Prakash Karat in the recent days. The suave intellectual when was asked of his perspective of these latest developments could not even hold himself back.

Speaking to the press and media he stated under an agony, “Why are you asking us, ask the government. Let them increase the rates of petrol and diesel. This all is the result of the steps taken by the government.”

But the BJP was also not ready to simply make a crushing remark since it was awaiting such a situation. This became evident from the member of its topmost brass and spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy who, without losing any time, invited the press to his residence.

The intention was certainly to make clear party's rhetoric but it turned out along with his personal observation. He said, “BJP is now urging government to please spare the nation. Common man can not bear this inflation anymore.” He also accused both of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Finance Minister P Chidambaram to be mainly responsible for the present calamity.

What is most striking is that none of them has offered any tangible advice that can take out the country from the impending disaster. They are most interested to fish in troubled waters.
